SessionCodex 1.1.0 is available now for macOS. This is the biggest update since launch — it's about trusting the app with the messy parts of a real library: duplicate projects, piles of unsorted bounces, and files you'd rather the app never touch.
Merge projects. Two versions of the same song living as two projects? Merge them. You see a full preview first — every file that will move, shown side by side — and duplicates are compared by their actual audio content, not just their names. Identical files aren't copied twice; different takes with the same name are kept and clearly renamed. The merged-away project stays recoverable for thirty days, and the whole merge undoes with one keystroke.
File any bounce, anywhere. The Bounces view now acts on what it finds: import matched bounces into their projects in bulk, assign any file to a project of your choosing, or create a brand-new project straight from a bounce's suggested title. Near-matches now appear as suggestions with a confidence score — and nothing is ever filed without your say-so.
Managed or referenced — your call. On setup you now choose whether SessionCodex organizes files into its library tree or leaves everything exactly where it is and simply references it. The status bar always shows which mode you're in. If you've ever hesitated to let an app near your session folders, this one's for you.
Quality of life, everywhere. Renaming a project now renames its folder — and if the name collides with another project, you're offered a merge instead of an error. Updates show you what's inside before you install, and a What's New window appears once after you update. Settings has been reorganized into eight clear sections with one calm Recovery page. Scanning is one click, watches your mix folders live, and safely cleans up entries for files you've deleted. And dozens of smaller fixes: play buttons that track what's playing, paths that never cut off the filename, and a unified look for every dialog and menu.
The app will offer 1.1.0 automatically — install it in one click. If you have any questions or feedback, reach out to [email protected].
