SessionCodex 1.6.3 is available now for macOS, and it’s a substantial one — navigation, bulk work across projects, automatic bounce recognition, and a library that keeps itself honest.
Moving around
- Back and Forward buttons beside the search bar, working the way they do in a browser. ⌘[ and ⌘] move through where you’ve been, and each view remembers its own scroll position.
Working across several projects at once
- Select multiple projects with Cmd-click or Shift-click, then right-click to Archive, Deep Archive, or Merge them. Merging walks you through a full review first, moves one project at a time, and every step can be undone.
Bounces
- Bounces are recognised automatically. Bounce from Pro Tools — or any DAW — into its bounce folder and it appears in your Bounces lane within seconds, no scan needed.
- Mark anything as “Not a Bounce” from the right-click menu, and it stays marked.
- Create New Project directly from the right-click menu on an incoming bounce, alongside Assign to Project.
- Hear both sides of a proposed match before accepting it — the matched project plays its own bounce next to the incoming file, and you can jump straight to its session.
A library that keeps itself current
- SessionCodex checks your library folders when it starts. Files you add, move or remove in Finder while the app is closed are picked up on the next launch instead of going unnoticed.
- Sessions filed under the wrong project can be repaired from the verification results. Each shows both folder locations in full, opens either in Finder, and offers to re-file it under the project it’s actually in, move its files into the project it’s assigned to, or unlink it.
- The caution triangle is now clickable, with the actions to resolve it: locate a moved folder, verify again after reconnecting a drive, or reveal in Finder.
Recovery Center
- Everything recoverable in one window — your operation history, Recently Removed projects with a full merge receipt showing exactly what was merged and what wasn’t, and the Trash, each row with Reveal in Finder.
Smaller things
- Open files in their default app straight from the file browser.
- Discard tells you how much space you’ll reclaim before you commit to it.
- More control over how long removed items are kept before cleanup.
- Clearer guidance when choosing a library folder or scan location, with an explanation when a choice is too broad to work well.
